Plastic Surgery- My Journey

So here is a topic I think intrigues many. Whether you have had plastic surgery, want plastic surgery, or are just curious; I believe many at least would like to know about it.
So here's my story:
Growing up I was always super skinny. All the other girls developed before me and I was made fun of for being flat chested. I remember as if it was yesterday. I was in the 7th grade sitting at the lunch table with all my girlfriends and this boy Mike who was a grade above me, came up to our table, tapped me on the shoulder and said, "my friend wanted me to tell you, you're as flat as an ironing board", and walked away. Back then, I wasn't as confrontational as I would be now if something like that happened. I never said two words to the kid, and was just sitting there minding my business, and out of no where there he came. It hurt ... it hurt so bad. I played it off as if I was fine, as to not be any more embarrassed than I already was. I remember saying to my girls, "I'm not that flat ... am I really that flat?!" They looked at one another, then said no ... which of course was a lie because quite frankly, I was flat!
Anyway, some time before the age of 11, I remember being at an amusement park with my grandparents. I was standing on line to go on a water slide and I saw a woman with her daughter. I remember looking at this lady who had absolutely no boobs and thinking, "OMG when I'm older I hope I don't look like that!" Don't ask me why, maybe it was in my genes to want big boobs, lol. And even before that at 6-ish, I remember playing dress up and always stuffing our outfits and using socks to make big boobs. Mine always looked so perfect and symmetrical, my friends' were always lop-sided and different sizes. Who knew later on in life I would be stuffing my bras in high school for real and getting away with it!
The point is, did I get a boob job because of always being made fun of and developing and insecurity about it, or is it in your genes to want to look a certain way? Was all of this a good thing? Did it humble me or hurt me mentally?
I set my mind in junior high that I wanted implants when I was older. At 14, I got my first job at a popular jean store in NY called Havana Jeans. Since then I saved money to put towards a boob job. My family taught me that if you want something in life, you need to work for it, and to always save your money for a rainy day. Finally, when I was 18, I started looking for DRs in my area. I have a rule of 3: always see 3 different doctors, companies, or whatever before making a decision.
October 10th, 2003 - I went under the knife and got my FIRST set of implants. I saved up my entire life and handing over a check never felt so good. I started off a 32AA and went with a 320cc saline implant which brought me to a small C. Many say, when you are considering getting implants, always go a little bit bigger than you think you want, because mentally, once the swelling goes down you'll be disappointed that your boobs are not as big as they were right out of surgery. Its the truth! I was so upset about the size and to top it off, my family thought the same thing but didn't want to say anything to me about it. Not only was I unhappy with the size but I also developed a common complication called Symmastia.

"Symmastia is usually a result of over-dissection of the tissues in the cleavage area. This over-dissection is sometimes done intentionally in hopes of creating or increasing cleavage - other times, its unintentional. Symmastia is commonly referred to as 'breadloafing', or 'kissing implants', or 'uniboob'. With this condition, the implants actually meet in the middle of the chest, giving the appearance of one breast, instead of two."
Mine weren't as bad as the picture but it basically shows what happened. Needless to say, I needed to get them redone.

So five months later, in March 2004, I went and got my boobs redone because of complications with the first. I also increased the size of my implant to from 320cc to a 400cc saline smooth implant placed under the muscle, which made me a true 32C (my back is tiny). My cleavage was fixed (for the moment), my boobs were bigger and I was happy.

I lived with those boobs for almost 6 years and finally at the age of 24, I decided I wanted to switch to silicone and go bigger. The ones I had dropped a lot, also known as "bottoming out" (pictured below). I like high implants. I wanted people to question, "are they real or are they fake?" I didn't want to look too natural.

In August 2009, I used a reconstructive doctor located in San Diego, CA (Dr. Paul Chasan). He took one look and knew exactly what needed to be done. I decided to use the silicone adhesive gel implant, and went from a 400cc implant to 550cc!!! A lot had to go down in the surgery. Stitches were placed internally, below my implants to lift them back to place. Stitches were also placed in the center of my cleavage, to sew the skin and muscle back down to the breast bone, since it wasn't completely sewn down from my second reconstructive surgery in 2004. AT LAST, I was so proud to say I was a 32DD. My boobs were almost in my neck and I was loving it!

When I did my boobs for a 3rd time I decided to simultaneously get the tip of my nose refined. Growing up I had a perfect nose, and then I lost my baby fat and all of a sudden my nose (to me) looked big. I'm Italian so I had a "round tip" and I wanted a more delicate feminine look, so while I was under I did that too.

Fortunately, they didn't have to touch the bone. All they had to do was take away some cartilage around the tip and thin it out. So recovery was not bad at all. Dr. Paul Chasan did an amazing job, and I was super happy with the outcome.

Things didn't stop there though.

A few months after my 3rd breast augmentation my cleavage started to pop up again. Dr. Chasen had warned that this may happen, as my back and ribs are very narrow. There is only so much room to stick two large implants on a small body, without them migrating towards the center and ripping the stitches. But being thick-headed I wanted to go big, so he did it, and hoped for the best.

I realized having 32DD boobs wasn't that great.

I couldn't go to stores and buy 32DD bras. I had to order them, which was annoying, and luxury intimate apparel stores had a limited selection in that size. I went for a check up with Dr. Chasen for my nose and breasts. When he saw my breasts he was really upset. Since in the back of his mind he knew this would happen.  Fortunately Dr. Chasen found a new technique that would solve my problem (my cleavage never staying down) and was ready to preform it.

Shortly after I was booked in with Dr. Chasen for reconstructive surgery (my 4th breast augmentation). He told me I must go smaller because my body can not carry 550cc silicone implants. He brought me down to 500cc implant, performed his new technique on my cleavage and all was fixed! YIPPEEEEE!!!!! SUCCESS AT LAST! I'm now a 32D and couldn't be happier. Its been almost a year since my 4th reconstructive breast augmentation and the cleavage has stayed down, my breast have stayed up and they are the perfect size for me!

Me NOW.. after my 4th surgery. Perfection

As for my lips:

Ive been getting lip injections for years now. I naturally have pretty big lips but I wanted them poutier. I admit, there were times that I have gone over board. I haven't had injections in the last year and I'm liking how things are looking. It can become addictive, but I've grabbed a hold of myself because I think it can age you really fast. I get Juvederm in the outer edges of my upper lip and two spots in my lower to make it very pouty. It's said to last about 6- 12  months.

After all is said and done, I have to say it was a long journey but it was all worth it. I'm for the most part happy, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Before the Lip Injections and Before the Nose Refinement
Here at age 18.

I think for now this is pretty good.

Before I had anything done I would search the web for girls who looked pretty to me and that possibly had work done. I would email them on MySpace back then, to find out what they had done and who they used, but they never responded.  It bothered me so much- I never understood WHY they were so secretive and didnt want to help out someone else in need.  I wish they would've, SO because of it I wanted to share what I could and not be that "secretive" "Iv had nothing done- IM natural" person . If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer them.

My husband taught me, "to keep what you have, you give it away." I get it.

I hope you enjoyed this entry, and hope to hear from you soon!

  1. Yay! I have been looking forward to this post since you started your blog. Thank you for being so candid and honest. That's so rare these days and most girls are either to embarrassed to admit what they had done or too stuck up to share what makes her look perfect. Thank you so much for this post! :) I think you are so beautiful.

  3. Wow I absolutely love your blog! I think it is amazing that you are comfortable enough to open up to us about everything, even knowing that there are mean immature jealous people in the world that judge everything you say and do. You live an amazing life that people only dream of..... yet you seem so down to earth. You don't seem to take your life for granted or act like you are better than anyone else.
I am a 16 year old girl that has always believed that I am meant to do something BIG! And willing to work hard for it! I myself have big dreams in life and your blog has me want to work hard, be my own person, and become successful.
I really look up to you and hope that you will continue to post inspiring blogs :)

  4. Thanks for sharing. I myself am intrigued by cosmetic surgery stories. I had my 2nd augmentation in March. I was disappointed in my size. If you are interested in XL augmentation, you must check out Dr. Pousti. He specializes in XL augmenation. I'm 5'4" 110 lbs, small frame. I went to an 800 cc and am thrilled with the results. He too, is in La Jolla.

Thanks so much for sharing your plastic surgery experience. You look so fit and skinny! Can you share your diet and workout regime? You have such nice abs - would love some tips on that!

Also, what skincare products do you use?

    Thanks!

  7. Hey Jennifer--I’ve had reconstructive surgery (lift and augmentation) and it’s been almost a year since the surgery. After I got it done I felt like my boobs were a little too big, as I have a small frame as well (32), but my boobs are 32DDD but I have 375 CC. Anyway I since you have been through so much I wanted to ask your opinion on this, I just started to notice that mine are shaped a little odd, so I went in for a checkup and have Capsular Contraction. So I am going in to get them fixed. I’m debating going a little smaller maybe 350 cc but will that be a big difference? It’s hard to tell and I want to go smaller but nervous they will be too small. What do you think? Also, have thought about getting my nose done, is it worth it? I’m also nervous it would change me whole face. Thanks…

  8. I think it's amazing that you want to share so much and help other people! I have favorited this blog :)
Can I ask if you have any knowledge about surgeons in Beverly Hills? I'm having a nose revision since my previous nose surgery didn't go so well :( Are the surgeons in Beverly Hills generally overpriced? Any surgeons you've heard about that has done great work (facial surgery)? Please tell if you do :)

This is so awesome never thought a beautiful woman would be so kind as well.

  11. Jennifer, I really admire you for being so candid about your surgical procedures. You are a gorgeous woman and achieving perfection through surgery is the dream of many women out there. However, you have to have something amazing to start with and you obviously did. I love your blog and I'm learning a lot from you every time I come in to read it:-)

  12. This, for me, is bitter-sweet. For on one hand, I love the way you wrote it, and the fact that it was shared. However, on the other hand humanity's cruelty annoys me. I'm thinking about the children out there, being ridiculed and chastised for being themselves. The pain it causes them, their desire to be loved and accepted.

    Honestly, I usually don't care.

I believe the trials and tribulations we go through are warranted. They enable us to transcend our limits and quite frankly, live. As such, the pain is justified. However, in this moment ... I in part wish, you didn't have to go through that, and this causes me to think about the others that do, from a different perspective.

Still, the experience has enabled you to be in a position to help the others, through ... and for that, I commend you, and perceive you, fortunate.

    Love, always.

  14. Jen,
Your candid post are awesome. As you may remember, I had a bit of PS as well. My reasons being quite different. After losing over 125 lbs I was left with body that was worse to me than being obese.

I have always been very honest about my what I had done. I had a great dr who did a great job However I still have awful scars down my arms Keloid) just the way I healed. The rest did not scar. Unfortunately I did not have the $$ to get all I wanted done. So I had a breast lift (no implants ;<) arm wings removed and a full circle around the tummy and back to remove excess skin.

All done in 1 very long surgery. Being I am so much older than you I am OK with it. Wish I could have a little more done but I am ok with things.

Ladies if you are planning PS PLEASE check out your dr, make sure you think about it carefully. It can be quite expensive and insurance does not usually cover any of it so it takes a chuck on money.

My final thoughts on PS, If it makes you feel happy do it!
LOVE the honestly Jen. You are an amazing lady!! HUGS

  15. Wow jen, u r so honest. That is very rare...I want to tell you that you are very beautiful and that you seem to be such a nice and sweet person. Your swimwear is amazing, a bit pricy though...You have an amazing body so I was wondering if u have any tips on fighting cellulite? I don't think you have any fat on your body but most girls do have...So I guess you have heard some tips or products or sth. It is November and I want to have an amazing body next summer. Pleeeeeaaaaase, give me some advice. xx

  19. Jennifer, your post was excellent, honest, and brave. Thank you for sharing with us, as you know (and have stated) many people don't. Your candid and open honesty is very refreshing and I commend you for that. Additionally, I relate with you about being picked on. I too am thin, I've always been thin. I can't tell you how many times I would come home crying to mom for being taunted and teased at school for being so thin, big feet and awkward. Funny thing, I grew up and it all changed for the better. Like most ugly duckling stories it always works out in the end. Odd part, it doesn't ever seem to end there as grown women can still act like those mean school children you grew up with (i'll save that for another post). You're a beautiful woman (slightly refined or not) and sharing how you've overcome your experiences with others is what sets your beauty (inside & out) apart from the rest.

    Thanks again

  20. Hi Casey. Thank you so much for your kind comments. Before I had this " amazing life" I had to work really hard for what I wanted. I wanted to model and act so I did research online, started shooting with photographers, put together a book and went around from agency to agency until someone agreed to work with me. I took the train and subways and went to every casting I was called for. I too had dreams of doing something big and no one was going to come knocking at my door and just give it to me. I landed a few big gigs, got into some of my favorite magazines and appeared on a bunch of TV shows and movies. The hard work was deff worth it and there is nothing more rewarding than doing it yourself. Now with my line, its just as rewarding seeing girls wearing my designs and loving them. Im going to do a post about this as you've just inspired me.. Keep up the good work and follow your dreams. If you truly believe it- it will happen :) xx

  23. Omg Jen, thanks so much for being so honest and posting this. I've contemplated rhinoplasty for such a long time as I feel so self conscious but I just wondered if you were every worried about what friends and family would say about your surgery as this is one of my biggest concerns. And for your tip refinement did they have to break your nose? You looked beautiful before and after x

  24. Jen, amazing post! Def my favorite blogger as of yet. You are so amazingly beautiful inside and out, thank you for sharing your story with us. I am obsessed with getting a breast augmentation myself and hope to do so soon....I know you said when the swelling go down the size is a lot smaller....how long exactly does it take for the swelling to go down to know your actual size? For instance, how long after did u go bra hunting! Lol Thank you once again for sharing, and i look forward to your future posts! I would love to see one on how you do your makeup, and also skin care (favorite facials, etc.)

  25. Hey Jenn!! Let me just say i was so excited to see you started a blog but this entry is exactly what a lot of girls (including myself) needed to see. I follow u on twitter and write to you from time to time..im @13eatiful_J just to narrow it down! :) i wrote to u recently asking if you had ever been teased about ur weight when your were younger. and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for responding! i, like u, spent countless hours looking at other girls on the internet, trying to get info about them or their doctors etc. I even asked you not too long ago! ive have been getting teased for years about my body. Ive had rumors started about me, and theirs bein a lot of name calling over the years...in some areas of NY people still call me "skeletor">>>i know cute right? lol. well im 22 and ive been saving and saving to get a breast aug. i know i dont "need" it, but i want it. i want clothes to fit, i want the teasing to stop, i want my confidence back, and most of all i wanna look at myself and be able to say "damnn gurrllll!!" haha! im sure you know what i getting at. i agree with ur rule of three and im the same way BUT i have had consults with a few dr.'s and they all seemed good (at the time) but ive heard a lot of conflicting stories. One doctor even said i could contact some of his previous patients but that didnt seem legit to me..im sure whoever he was going to have be call was the one person who had NO complications and NO complaints. Good for her and all but im not too satisfied with that. My question to you is since we have the same stomping grounds...do you know of any good dr.s in the area?? anyone you or a friend can suggest?? idk if thats too personal and i apologize if it is. honestly nothing about the surgery scares me...its the person doing it who does. Anyway i look foward to hearing back from you and thank you soooo much for puting urself out their for your fans!! Keep Killing it and making ur fans proud! - Jessica xox

  30. Hey Jen!!

Firstly, I just want to say THANK you for being so upfront and honest about what you have had done. Most people would assume you are a snob, full of surgery and expensive things, But it really shows alot that you can show the world you are not just another girl. You are helpful and considerate!

I had a question about your nose surgery. I have a similar nose to what you had before surgery. And i have this little bump on the tip of my nose, its just cartilage. I havent gone in for a consultation yet, but iwanted to know how it was for you. Did you find it was relatively cheaper because it wasnt so extensive?

Id appreciate any help with that :D. u rock!

  32. Jennifer!
I've seen your pictures on the internet and I think you're absolutely flawless. I am so surprised that at 500cc you're a 32DD! I had my first BA a few months ago and got 350cc which brought me to a 32DD or a 30E cup! I think a D or DD looks best on girls with small frames. You want them to look big but not ridiculously big. Yours look great! I also get juvederm in my lips. I have a blog too and so many people ask me about the work I've had done but I tend to avoid questions regarding any of my surgeries because there are so many people who look down on people who have had plastic surgery. I think it's super courageous of you to put yourself out there and share your experiences with everyone. I think you're absolutely flawless and have an amazing sense of style. xoxo

  35. Hi Jen! Saw you posted you were upset last night on twitter - hope you are feeling better! I get that way sometimes myself. It was worse when I was about your age. Seems to get better in time. Think allot of it may be stress and worry;( could you please let me know who you would recommend for lip injections on the east coast? What are your thoughts about tanning? I love the way it looks but don't want to go cray cray! Do you tan often? If not do you use a self tanner on your face/ body? Last but not least you should totally do a blog about getting ready for the beach or bathing suit routine. Like all the things to make you Stand out in the crowd at a pool party or beach, things you consider must haves! Including your amazing bikini line! Any adivice for cellulite?

  37. I think it is so brave of you to put yourself out there like that. It takes a lot of courage to be so open with no defensiveness, very inspiring! A Lot of girls usually ask about plastic surgery questions just to see if what you have is real or not...so for you to be so honest is refreshing. If getting something fixed on yourself makes YOU happy then do it. But not too much or you can end up looking older than you are and that's awful. You're perfect now don't change Please!

Overall, I think I'll share this link on my fanpage just because of all the models I know who are debating breast augmentations.

  40. Jennifer, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog. Its really wonderful! It answers so many questions I have regarding well... pretty much everything! Love the fashion tips, as Im always looking for a steal-- I spend so much on shoes and purses I that could always use a reasonably priced dress or shirt. Make-up tips are awesome as well! BUT what I really felt the need to comment on is the Cosmetic Surgery segment. I, too am thinking of getting a nose job! Looking at older pictures of you I think you and I may have had exactly the same nose (except now you have the perfect nose that I want)!!! I have been going back and forth with myself for years over it because truthfully its not a bad nose to have, and no one seems to think I need a nose job-- but for me personally I always see my profile as being that much better with it fixed. I know I would only need a tiny bit of the bridge shaped up! I guess what Im trying to say is...Can you recommend to me your plastic surgeon you used? I live in Manhattan-- and have no problem traveling up there! Thanks girl-- any help/advice you can give would be amazing!

@x00beauty- Yes it goes down alot and then your boobs drop out from your neck and settle. Kinda depressing LOL for me anyway. I would say a few months 2-3 you start to see a difference from when you were fresh out of surgery. best of luck :)

@Jessica- aww girl.. Let them call you skeletor- to be honest all the girls who had slamming bodies when I was in High school are all Fat now! Just saying the truth. And allt he guys that teased me in HS prob wish I would throw them a bone LOL.. No- but you know what I mean. It sucks until you realize everyone is envious that your skinny. I love being called skinny now :) BUt it deff was really hard in middle school weh your just wanting to fit in.. Even HS at times. I used to wear sweat pants under my jeans to make me look bigger and my pants tighter.. ANyway- as far as dr's. I used Dr. Blaur, My girl friend used Dr. Ferrara and another used Dr. Ciardullo all in White Plains :) xx

@Shana- Thank you so much_ that means so much to me xx

@Jae- thanks girl... Yes I spray tan but I'm also Italian and have olive skin naturally

@silvana- aww :) I think my nose was around 5k ?!?!? NOt 100% sure though xx

@Ashley- Hey girl- well actually- what Iv been told is that breaking the bone is the easy part- It's the tip that takes alot more time in doing. I think it is a bit cheaper and recovery is deff ALOT easier. Go in a see a few dr's and look at before and after pics.. Some peoples noses you'll look at and be like OMG it's horrible- BUT if what you started with was horrible there is only so much a dr can do. LOL xoxo

  45. @alena- your so welcome :)

@Jenna- OMG 30E... Your tiny too like me :) My back measures like a 28 but the smallest bras I can find are 32.. which is fine on the tightest notch. Thank you so much for your kind words. Some people do look down on plastic surgery. I like to say it's a Luxury- and not everyone can have it. Who says being natural is the cool thing anyway?!?! I started this blog really bc I feel like people talk shit about me and the things I have had done when I never deny it to begin with. They do it to hurt me when really they look like asses. SO I felt like if I came out and said everything they would have nothing to " call me out" about. It's a funny place and humans are really funny. People talk about others when they are feeling insecure about themselves. So "putting them down" makes them feel better. I feel I was beautiful before and after- so if fixing my nose or getting implants makes me feel better- who is anyone to judge- why do they care so much.. Thank again girl- Im gonna start a plastic surgery club- LOL baahhhaaahhhaaa jk

@anon- please actually read my blog to see what dr's I use for what. I take the time to write an in depth blog about everything from A_Z including the dr's I have used. It's all there you just have to take the time to read it :) x

@chloe- aww thanks girl- so yes i spray tan and occasionally do a tanning bed. But in the winter I'll do spray. Alot of girls in Cali spray tan- so Ive gotten more into it since moving here. In NY it was all about baking in the bed LOL. Il do a post about which ones I use soon.. xx

@Daniel- Thank you so much :)

@Ashily- thanks girl- I used a dr on the west coast. I think they ahve the best Dr's bc everyone in LA wants to be perfect so they do SOO MANY nose and boob jobs- ( just an observation). If you could come out to cali and see someone here.. I dont know anyone on the east coast that had a nose job that I love :( xx

@J- Dr. Chasen is amazing. He fixed my breast and they are amazing now. His main thing is reconstructive so you can only imagine how good he would be with doing a normal boob job instead of fixing botched ones. Best of luck- tell him I said hello :)

    @sara- will email you :)

@anon- In my blog I wrote about all of this... under the muscle, silicone adhesive gel, and 32D

Thanks girls for all your comments- sorry it took me so long to reply!!!

  46. Hey Jen!
I can't believe a hot, beautiful, talented model actually admitted to not only having plastic surgery but told us who you went to :)
I also have sent emails to models asking where they went and such with NO replies! I love you for being so open and honest :) I'm planning on getting a breast aug. and I've been researching for a year now. I was wondering how much your final breast surgery was, I know it was reconstructive so the price might be diff than a regular surgery. And in my opinion, models boobs look WAY better than regular before and after pics, I know that's because of photoshop and they have clothes on but I was wondering (since you're an insider) if models go to certain plastic surgeons because they have more $$ so their's turn out better or what? Just a thought...thank you :)

  47. Jennifer!! Hi mama!!! I came across your blog and I just want to give you a HUGE applause for your honesty and for being so candid about a topic so many people-especially women, and especially women in our industry of entertainment--either judge or are not being honest with each other about. It says a lot about your character and I absolutely love your quote from your fiancee: "to keep what you have, you give it away."

Whatever ones opinions or feelings are about plastic surgery for themselves, I think we should strive to not judge each other and to love and help one another as much as we can. You are such a rarity for offering to share your experiences and knowledge to other women who are interested in this topic. You were obviously born stunning and are so gorgeous now so whatever you're doing its working lol. Since the first time I met you many years ago at an audition, you stood out because of your kindness, confidence and you were a genuine sweetheart. I LOVE your blog, (Im favorite-ing it now) and I wish you all the success and happiness in the world!! Hope to see you again soon. xoxo -Sena

  48. Jen! It is SO amazing to hear someone be so open & honest about the procedures they have had done. You look amazing & your honesty is much appreciated!!

11 yrs ago I had a breast reduction and went from DD's to a small C. Now after having my 1st child a cpl yrs ago & breast feeding...and weight loss throughout the years, it all left me with awful boobs! I had my 1st boob job this past September and I went 400 cc's (mentor smooth moderate plus profile gels) behind the muscle. In the past 6 mnths I have been SO disappointed with what has happened to them. You are SO right when you said that they shrink! Do they ever :( I am curious what exactly you had done to yours to get them to sit higher? I feel that mine have lowered SO much and look semi 'bottomed out'. My doc said I should go to 500 cc's if I want to have the higher 'rounder' cleavage, but Im only 5ft tall & I think 500 cc's would look silly on me & Im sure they would just lower again anyways. Im very curious about what your doc did because your look perfect now! Any info whenever you have time would be much appreciated! Congrats on all your success girl! Your an amazing designer!

  50. Hello Jennifer,
I'm so glad you're someone who isn't ashamed to discuss what you've done with your body. I'm strongly considering having Dr. Chasan do implants as I live in LA and I've done research on him, but I was wondering around how much did it cost? I'm assuming hes very expensive, so I'd really like to know about how much it cost you to see if I can afford that. Please respond, it would mean so much to me. Thank you for being so open!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. @tina- I know what your saying about models boobs. I do think that certain girls wanta certain look and they may possibly all go to the same "group " of dr's. Certain dr's also get used to doing a certain look and therefore the outcome is better?!/1. For being being from the east coast and moving to the west coast I think the dr's here are so used to doing a "certain look" here that for me they are better. They know exactly what I'm looking for bc they've done it time and time again. Dr. Paul chasen has done a TON of models. There signed pictures hang in his office. I want o say my implants and work cost 15k. I dont recall exactly but I do know that silicone adhesive gel implants are much more than just saline. I would never go back to saline though - silicone is the best to me. Super soft! I would think that going in for a routine breast aug would be alot less than a reconstructive bc of the work that has to go into the recon. It's worth calling up and asking- but if your in the area- go in for a consult. Good luck :)

@Amy- awww.. Well since mine had already bottomed out- I know Dr Chasen had to put a ton of internal stitches to bring them back up. I told him specifically I want them HIGH and ROUND. I too went from 400cc to 550 and then to 500. I loved them at 550- the look was great- BUT- that it until gravity kicks in and takes them down. The heavier they are- the more likely they will drop. So 500cc for me is perfect. Its over a year now and they are still super high and just perfect. Did he ever suggest a lift? The scar is annoying but maybe instead of going bigger you could do that?!?! idkk good luck - hope this helped :)

@anon- Like I said above- I had reconstructive surgery. I was down for hrs bc of all the internal stitches he had to do. Im sure mine cost much more than yours would. I know they also do financing. But go talk to him and see what he has to say and your options :) him and his wife are very sweet <3

  52. Do you mind me asking if you went above or below the muscle? I am about to get mine done on the 18th and im trying to decide if I wanted to go above or below.

  53. I know you probably get like a million complements of your boobs, but im gonna say it, your boobs are soo nice, I got mine done and went through the armpit, im quite happy with mine, but I think im gonna get them bigger, I was just wondering which procedure did you doctor do for your breast augmentation?? through the nipple, under the breast, armpit, or navel?? I am asking because I feel like my boobs are still very far apart and ive been trying to find a good bra to push them together but they wont = ( i want my boobs to have a nice cleavage like yours, mind you mine are 350cc, so big difference. hope to hear back from you = )

  54. I'm curious if you could tell me what is your height and how much you way because I'm thinking of getting breast implants and was thinking of getting the size you have but dont know if it would fit my body so that's why I'm asking for your height/weight just to compare. thanks

  55. I am thinking of getting a boob job because I am teased all the time about being flat :( But the thing I'm worried about is the pain, because I have a very low tolerance lol. How did you get through it? I also heard that you have to take all types of medication after the surgery; is there any truth to this??

  59. Jen, can you please let me know how much of a lip filler you use? Do you use an entire syringe of Juvederm? One syringe is 0.8cc. The amount used depends on the current amount of fullness in your lips as well as what look you desire.
I really like your lips! I think they're full and pouty with a noticable difference, but without looking way overboard.

    Thanks so much!

Some are actually so shy to talk about the procedure that they underwent. Three thumbs up for you Jennifer for unselfishly sharing your experiences. =)

I just had my boobs done 2 weeks ago, and I truly wish I would of gone just a bit bigger. I did a 425 cc. I had a friend who did the same and my sister and they were about the size I had wanted to go. I didnt want to go to big. I didnt want to look top heavy. But I wish I would of gone at least 450 now looking back :(

Im still healing right now.. sleeping sucks!! but im looking forward to when they soften up alittle so I can lay on my side again :)

love this post! i've had my boobs done for over a yr now and after they dropped i've been rly unhappy with them. I refuse to go back to my doctor as i went to discus my problems, he got rly defensive. anyways, i am getting them re done by a new doctor that seems rly great :)

Do the stitches keep your breast up and perky? because i love the look of your breast and that is exactly how i want mine to look, do you know the profile of your implants?

How was the recovery after your second set of implants, easier then the first? my first time was extremely painful :*( so im hoping the 2nd isn't as bad LOL

hope you have the time to get back to me xo

  76. Hi. This is written really well and is very honest. I am 24 and am going to get a boob job in July so i have been researching before and after pics like crazy and trying to decide what size to get. I am very little. i'm 160cm tall and 45kgs with a very narrow chest. I used to love my little boobs until i breastfed for 15 months and i now have nothing :( My boobs were massive while breastfeeding. They went from an A to D. I'm thinking of getting 400cc high profile implants. But when I look at your pic from when you had these they don't look that big? I also want people to question whether they are real or fake.. I thought I would ask your opinion as you have had them done.
    Thanks xx

  82. Hey Jennifer,
I've been reading your blog for some time now and I really appreciate your honesty about having plastic surgery. I have been thinking for some time to get lip injections because my lips are really thin and it looks awful when I put lipstick on. I was wondering if you could answer some of my questions like if I don't like it or think it looks too fake, will they go back to normal? And also stupid question but does it hurt? I'm really scared of needles! Thank you in advance!

  83. Hi Jennifer,I have the same issue where my implants have dropped a lot and I have only had mine for a little over a year. Yours look great and I was curious what it costed you with Dr Chasan to see if it would be anything in my price range. Thank you!

  84. Hey Jen,

I just had a quick question regarding your nose surgery-the tip refinement. I think your nose is one of the best i've ever seen. I've dreamt of getting a nose job since i was in the 9th grade, being Italian (like you) & Greek I didn't have a "horrendous" nose but my tip was very "bulbous" as you understand. So, I saved up my entire high school & college life and last May I finally got a nose job (i'm 22). Since it's been almost a full year, I have to say i'm very not happy with the outcome. My nose was wide up top like most italian/greeks are, and yes, he did fix that beautifully. However, he barely did ANYTHING to the tip. My nose has a TINY upturn but my tip is still REALLY bulbous and so much cartilage. I was wondering if you knew if it is OK to get the nose tip refinement surgery even though I previously had a regular rhinoplasty, or if you recommend anything I should do/say when finding the right surgeon. I grew up on Long Island, so I was thinking of trying one of the surgeons you listed that are in White Plains, but I really love yours and was wondering if you had any suggestions/knowledge about this type of thing before I ask the professionals.

Thank you so much & your kindness to help others is really inspiring and appreciated.

  85. Hi Jennifer, just read the wedding section of your blog and you looked amazing hun. I had a rhinoplasty last year and suspect I need a revision now that the swelling has mostly subsided. I had tip work done which is now very asymmetrical. What was the price range for your rhinoplasty? I would be coming from Australia to get it fixed so I want to start considering factors and finances (the Aussie dollar is doing well at the moment so I don't want to delay it too long). Also, thank you for providing the details of your surgeon, I will message him as well.
    Take care - Natalie

  93. Just came across your blog and wanted to say how down to earth you came across. Thank you for being honest about your plastic surgery. You look great! It took me a long time to make my decision to go under the knife. But it's true, no one understands your insecurities but you. I've had friends envious of my small frame but had no idea how frustrating it was being the "flat one" of the bunch. Plastic surgery is there for whoever wants it. You can do something about the way you look and that's a fact.

  94. Hi Jennifer!

Found your blog by complete chance and, as another Jennifer who went under the knife, thought maybe you could shed some light on some things for me?

When I was 17 I had a small breast lift without reduction. I'd lost a ton of weight and things didn't stay the way I wanted them, to. I waited until I was 24 to get implants and went with 350cc moderate plus saline. I like them and they're certainly 100% better than what I had but I almost wish I had gone with the high profile and maybe a 375-400cc instead.

As someone who has had multiple breast augmentations, can you tell me what the scarring is like after multiple surgeries? If I go under the knife again this will be surgery number three and the only thing I worry about is scar tissue. I'm 25 now so I'm thinking of waiting until either 26-27 to get them redone but if you could shed any light on that for me I'd be really grateful!

I am interested in both Rhinoplasty and Breast Augmentation, but as you stated above, I cannot get other women to answer questions to help me out. It is frustrating. Also, you happen to have the perfect nose that I'd like to show a surgeon one day. =)

Hope you can help me out!

  97. Hi Jennifer!
I'm 17 and from the UK, thanks for being so honest about your surgery, like you said, so many girls are secretive, and its hard for girls like me to find the truth about surgery.
I really dislike my nose, I dont have any issues with the bone, just the tip. Like you its quite rounded. And the sides are possibly a little to wide. It makes me feel unfeminine and a bit manly. My friends and family dismiss it when I tell them how I feel, and tell me there's nothing wrong with it, but I disagree.
How long did it take you to recover and how expensive is it?
I'm only 17 (nearly 18) but I sometime think am I too young to have surgery, would I regret it when I'm older and what if it went wrong?

Thanks for such an interesting blog!
    Daisy :)

    1. Hi I saw your post and thought I could answer this for you since Jen has so many posts to answer.
I'm almost 20 now and I got my nose done when I was 18. I wanted it since middle school and I figured 18 would be the perfect age as that's the age you become a legal adult, as well they say you have stopped growing. So I saved for two years and booked my consultations the week I turned 18. I had the surgery October last year, so it's been a full year now. I do not regret it for one minute, and am so glad I did not wait any longer. I waited long enough and there's no point spending more time in your life unhappy and self conscious than needed. I will say don't hesitate if it's something you really want, but at the same time do not rush the process. Make sure you find a surgeon you are REALLY comfortable with. When I looked for mine I looked at all their websites and noses they had done. You start to see trends and each one has a certain style. Look for the pre-surgery pics of noses similar to yours and see if you like what the surgeon did with it. Make sure you feel comfortable telling him what you want. I also chose one fairly close to me, and this was so beneficial. I do not recommend travelling for this surgery. Over the past year I had post-op appointments every month and then every 3 months. He did this to make sure it was healing properly and settling into a nice shape. If something had went wrong he would do a quick fix which wouldn't even require going under anesthesia or anything. This is difficult to do when you are too far. However everything settled really well, and now that it's been a year this is the nose I'll have for the rest of my life.
Which brings me to my next point. They say it takes a whole year for full recovery. That's when the swelling has 100% completely gone away and you now have your permanent nose. When I look at pictures throughout the year this is slightly true, I see faint differences. However even with "swelling" I loved my nose immediately. The swelling was barely there. What true recovery is, is the two weeks after surgery. First couple of days you're stuck in bed. With meds, there's no pain, but you're very tired. After that you're stuck in the house. There's bruised black eyes, and for me I also had swollen cheeks. I only took the pain meds for 3 days after and then at night for a week. I didn't leave the house for about 10 days until bruising was about 80% gone. For the rest of the month and even into the second month it felt like a mild cold. I was a bit congested and had a runny nose if I went out into the cold. But really when I look back, that's exactly what the whole surgery felt like- a cold. Stuck in bed, at home, feeling tired and congested. But like a cold, before you know it's gone and flew by. Except with this cold you're left with a new nose.
My family and friends also told me I don't need it, but now they say the results are beautiful. It's exactly what I wanted and the changes are subtle but really give my face a more cute, feminine look.
In Canada and the US this surgery costs about $6000-8000. Not sure what that is in GBP.

I hope this helped you, feel free to ask any other questions.
      -Vicky

  102. Hi Jennifer!

I think it's great that you are honest about the work done on you, as I hate it when models and/or actresses pretend to be all natural, and then girls all over the world feel inadequate for not being that perfect. Truth is - pretty much no one is, maybe 0,00001% of the world population.

What I find so, so sad though is that you and all these women/girls posting here talk about all the things they don't like about themselves, and how they got teased so badly and now want to change to get over that trauma and finally "be beautiful".

I don't know, call me old-fashioned (lol!), but I personally am working rather on just accepting the way I look and embracing my un-perfect body! It's the way God/the universe/nature/whatever you believe made me!!!! I mean, my nose is really quite big, no kidding, but you see - it is my father's nose, and I want to keep it because he gave it to me. One day he won't be here anymore, and then when (if?!) I get kids then I want to tell them:"I have your granddad's big nose, and I love it. It reminds me of him every day I look in the mirror."

Also, this from a woman with naturally big breasts (80DD, European size): It's not all that it's cracked up to be, loooool. Basically, the only men that are turned on by big breasts are creeps, hahaha. I also think it must be soooooo amazing to wear shirts and low-cut dresses without the need for a bra. I can't do that with my boobs! What I mean to say is - you always want what you don't have, and the grass is always greener on the other side.

Work on self-esteem and self-love, and the rest (and the nice guy, too!) will follow. No nose or boob job in the world can make you feel more wanted or more fulfilled in life! And diversity in body types and faces is sooooooo much more attractive I think!

    xox, and hope I haven't offended!!!! :-)

  103. Thank you for Sharing this Jennifer, i have been thinking about getting plastic sx for a long time. I would love to get a nose job and take some of my cartilage away. i have always been self conscious about my nose. I would like it to be a bit narrower. I enjoy your post. I'm a NY girl myself, How do you like California? How would you say the two are similar or different and what do you do to keep your tummy flat? I know I just hit you with a lot of questions, But I would appreciate your feedback. You are a beautiful girl.

I also got 335cc silicone hp unders and finished up with a full B barely c so I am thinking 500 for me should also do the trick:) Are you a small mid or bid D now? You look fantastic by the way:) I would love to end up your size so not sure if I need 500 or 525... Thanks

  105. Hi,
I have a couple things to say and also a question..Yesterday i discovered your bathing suit line fore the first time and absolutely fell in love!! Just ordered my first one!
Your'e such a stunning woman, i found your blogs and took a couple hours last night reading through them sort of blown away on how someone can be so educated and organized with fashion, accessories, make-up etc.
Question: May be stupid, but figured i'd ask... I know you dont live in Miami but i know you said you get fillers in your lips.. First, Is there a reason you prefer jevederm over restalyne?
Second, Would you happen to know anyone you could recommend in the miami area or as north as palm beach (where i live)?
Thanks for taking time to read over this!

  111. Hi Jennifer,
You are an amazing girl! I love your blog and how real you are. I read some of the comments on your botox blog and you do not look old! You are gorgeous and beautiful inside and out, and successful to boot! Triple Threat ;-) I think a lot of women are just jealous so they vocalize it with words of negativity to balance their our insecurities. I have plastic surgery related questions. 1st, I live in the midwest and need to find out who the best surgeons are for rhinoplasty and a little body contouring (ughhh, lipo, hate that word) Im know they are most likely on the west coast & I am fine with that. I will travel. Especially when it comes to Rhino, I only want to do it once. I know you have not had lipo but I figure you will still know. I appreciate your help in advance. Ps keep being the fabulous you!

  112. I am so happy you shared this story. I got my boobs done a month ago and I am so unhappy with the size. I have wanted a boob job since I was younger and I had so many expectations and they all fell flat! I wanted BOOBS! I was an A cup, I went with 371cc silicone and I feel as if I am wearing a padded bra. I am so unhappy with the size I am planning my second surgery. I feel horrible that I have to do this twice, but reading your story makes me feel a lot better. I am also tiny, I thought 371 would go a long way and it didnt. I also wanted people to wonder "are they real or fake"..I dont mind the fake look. These implants look way to natural. I am fitting into a 34D but I really dont look it at all. I have been crying because I hate that I spent all this money and I hate the result. Thank you for always sharing and being real! I love your look, your size fits you perfectly. Hopefully second time is the charm for me =)

  116. Jennifer!! I absolutely love you and your blog, your instagram and all that's about you! You seem like a truly genuine person and beautiful inside and out. I am planning my breast augmentation very soon, my second consultation is on July 31st. Now, my question for you is... Since you've said (&many girls I know said this too) that you should go a little bigger. I'm about 5"7, 130lbs and a pure A cup 34. I've set my mind on 375cc cohevisive gel implant. What would you suggest for me to do? I don't want to be TOO big, I wanna be just right. I have a small frame like you. I'm just scared that if I go bigger I won't be happy. Any advice from you I'll be thrilled with! I hope to get a reply from you soon!

  117. Hi Jennifer!

I was reading your blog and I love how open you are about your procedures. I am getting my boobs done in less than a month and I am debating between silicone and saline. Since you've had both, I was wondering if you could help me out a little with my decision, like if you have any pros and cons with each. A lot of the people I know who's had a breast augmentation went with saline to be safe but I am leaning a little towards silicone because of its natural look and feel. I would really appreciate your input. Thanks :)

  119. This post is inspiring, last year I got my breasts done, also going from 32 aa to 32 dd with 500cc silicone implants and while it's not terrible, my implants do touch a bit in the middle. The pain from the first surgery was awful and I'm terrified to go back Because of the pain and also what if they look worse? How did you get over those fears?

Plastic surgery is such a sensitive subject that any tid bits of information for people who are looking to have wok done are priceless. Would you be able to recommend a local surgeon you trust aside from traveling to San Diego. I was interested in having my breasts re-done and lip injections. Perhaps refining the tip of my nose also if i can find a way to afford it all. My surgeon has since retired. <3 I appreciate your help and guidance. Have a wonderful day. ~Kat

  125. Hi Jennifer,
I'm 22 and have been considering getting breast implants since I was young too. I just feel very out of proportion and overweight because I am bottom heavy, the rest of my family and friends have large breasts and I can't understand why I don't have any. I don't know of anyone with breast implants so I can't ask anyone on their opinions. I have heard some people say that it's not worth it then others say it was the best choice they ever made. I'm from Australia but I am travelling next year and thinking of getting a job done in California. I don't know what sort of research to do and I don't know what to believe is real on the internet. Can you please help me?
    Thank you

  127. I thank you for sharing. Were you left with large scars below your breast? I want a lift and augmentation and the Dr said I would have more scars because of the lift. I was wondering if they fade or stay ugly? Even though no one sees them I was wondering if I would be upset looking at them in the mirror or if they become small over time?

I really admire your honesty and courage to admit that you have had surgery done. To be honest i respect you even more now because it shows people that the other parts they may question are real. I am thinking of getting a boob job done in the next year, i am currently a student in England and saving up for the next year. Everyone says to me that there is no point, but no one else understands except for you. Now that i have read your blog, i feel that i can happily be open about it and stop the guessing, because then people will say "well that means she has had this done and that...". So thank you for that!!

I follow you on instagram and have just watched your wedding video - you and Alki make a wonderful couple... dont take any notice to all the negative comments, people are just jealous they dont have what you have. You are truly down to earth and you can totally see that!!

I wish you all the best and look forward to reading more of your blogs!

I to believe if it makes you happier and more complete then more power to you! It's funny what you wrote as to why you got your nose done, because I feel EXACTLY the same way about my nose. I too am Italian, and although I always liked my nose growing up I feel that in the past couple of years it's become more round at the tip (loss of baby fat as you said). I say this to people all the time, but they just think I'm crazy. I've been wanting to look into getting it "done" but have been so scared to do it. Anyways, thanks for the honesty in your post. Loved it!

first i wantes to say is that u are the most gorgeous girl i have ever seen earnestly :) sry for my bad english, but i come from germany.
I think u looked amazing before and after ur surgeries, so people who are talking bad about you are just jealous and wish they could look like you ;)
I had a boob job also last year . I completly understand your decision to get a breast argumentation, cause i had the same problem...i was really, really flat before and don´t felt complete. so i made it last year and i am not really happy with it, cause i think they are still to small. i got 245 cc anatomical implants and wear a b cup right now. that is really depressing because i wanted to have this fake unnatural look, like urs. but at that time i didnt really knew which implants are the best for me. so now i think i sould proove round ones in a bigger sice, maybe 450 cc?! my question is, what kind of implants do u have? are they round and high profiled ? i would be so happy if u answer me :))

    thank you , juli

  174. Beautifully told! I have had a breast augmentation done and it was honestly the best thing I have ever done! I went from at 10a to a 10d-dd and I absolutely love them! I was always really self conscious and i knew it was the right decision for me (despite what others said). :)

  181. Hi Jennifer! First off congrats on starting a family, he's going to be such a loved little boy:) I've followed your blog for awhile now and after reading your plastic surgery post many times I have made the choice to finally go ahead with breast augmentation. I actually have brought your pictures into my consult because I really would like to have a similar shape, maybe more in the C range though. What I was wondering is if you would mind letting me know what profile implants you have? I'm really hung up on deciding between high profile vs mod plus profile. Thank you for any info and again I have greatly appreciated your honesty in this post:)

  187. Hi Jennifer,

How many syringes of Juvederm did you need for your lips? They are gorgeous. I tried Juvederm once but it did not last at all, I used one syringe and once the swelling went away I was left with nothing :(. I have been researching different fillers and debating getting another filler or a permanent implant?

    Thanks!!

  188. Most of the people want to improve the appearance of their nose either by getting rid of a bump on the bridge, narrowing the bridge or refining the tip. Making alterations to the nose has a significant impact on the harmony of the entire face. The expert surgeons who carry out nose plastic surgery in New York respect the unique features of their patients and work with an approach different for each patient.

  189. I give you a great deal of credit for going through so many surgeries. The scary part is never knowing exactly how well the surgery will go and if your will look the way it was planned. We have all see the "horror" stories of plastic surgery gone wrong. Rich and famous or an average Jane, the results of the surgery are always unknown. Doctors sell us a fantasy and we so desperately want to believe that we will move closer to perfection, that we will be more beautiful (and ultimately) more loved. As a Jew, there are certain prohibitions against plastic surgery since it is God's desire that you not deface your body in any way because you only borrow your body. Some day it will return to the creator. Thanks you and best of luck.

  190. You look amazing! May I ask you who did your nose? I am looking to refine mine also and if so is the doctor located in the Los Angeles area? Thanks:)

  191. I think the after shots are amazing and the plastic surgery show the great results. I think the best type of plastic surgery are surgeries that restore your beauty and/or enhance your beauty. Everything in moderation, but when done properly patients can expect results like yours.

  192. Glad to see the best positive result of plastic surgery at this much. I have seen people going crazy with the wrong results of surgeries. But you have got it all. Amazed and happy to look you dazzling look. Because my friend underwent a vaser shape surgery and it horribly goes wrong.
